Only 1½ months have passed since Floor Wars 2013, and we’re already busy preparing next year’s battle. The first international elimination for 2014 will be in Barcelona on the 18th of May, for all spanish crews. Check the flyer above for details.

We are excited about being here for 9 years in the row with growing number of participants and internationals qualifiers.

This year we will have more then 60 crews competing in the 3v3, over 50 dancers have signed up for the Footwork battles and more then 32 crews are in the 2vs2 Toprock battles. Floor Wars is a truly international event with dancers coming from over 30 different countries from all corners of the world to share a common passion. It is a special accommodation of energy that surrounds these events and even thou the battles are serious business it is all within good meaning. This is also what keeps us doing what we do, and tonight is the time for the 2013 edition which we are looking forward to celebrate with you.

Note to all b-boys, b-girls and crews: Please make sure to go straight to the Registration desk at arrival to the venue. If you haven’t confirmed your registration you won’t be announced. Also note that that we DO NOT have last minute sign up’s a earlier announced.

As we have for the first time a 2vs2 Toprock battle at Floor Wars and this giving new opportunities like commandos and routines.

We thought of sharing the judging rules with you guys in advance for better transparency and common understanding.

We have as earlier announced a cap on 32 crews, the first round will be one move by each dancer – no routines or commands in the initial rounds. The judges pick the 16 top crews, which leads to the first round of the battles again consisting of one solo per dancer. From the second round on you can add commands and routines, thou max 2 per battle.

We are looking forward to this years edition, and hope you’re ready to Rock the floor.

We have a cap of max 60 crews (3vs3), 50 for the Footwork battles and 32 on the 2vs2 Toprock battles. After this you get on the waiting-list, therefor you still have to register to make sure you have a chance to participate on the day in case of some of the other crews not showing up. So please stay on hold in case you get on the waiting-list.

..and what an intense battle it was! We found the last of the great eight crews in Russia after a long and intense day of battles. No doubt that we are talking about a really strong competitor here as the overall level was really high. The final came down to Illusion of Exist and Life International both combining creativity, musicality and power.

But we found a winner and can only say: prepare! The Russians are coming, and they are STRONG! We are really excited of taking part in this event and want to thank our local friends and organizer Bboy Gymnast/Val as well as DJ Shubin and all the other people helping out and supporting. Not to mention the great amount of guys coming to support the event. Next to the crew battle there was also a 1on1 kids battle showing the young talent and a 1on1 Bboy battle for the “big guns” a bright look for the future.

The Floor Wars afterparty is legendary, and this year we’ve teamed up with Boogie Juice, who will make the walls shake at KB 18, a club located in the Meatpacking District close to Vega. The DJ line-up features high profiled resident DJs and a special appearance by DJ Skeme Richards. It will surely be an instense night of partying and cyphering, winding up this year’s event with style!
