Update on judges

Finally we can announce all judges for the three battle-types we are going to have on saturday. Unfortunately we have to announce that Mennoh won’t be able to participate, as he had other appointments where he has to attend on short notice. Nevertheless, we think we found a worthy colleague of him: Xisco (Hustle Kids, Holland) is going to take his place alongside the other judges Sonic (Natural Effects, Denmark) and Roxrite (Renegade, USA) for the main event and eliminations. For the Footwork battle we have Bboy Wing (Jinjo, Korea), Dr. Hefo (Fox Footwork, Poland) and Roxrite. The Toprock battles will be judged by KreeZee (Battle Apes, Germany), Gordospin (Pokémon, France) and Bboy Jeff (Rumble Pack, Denmark).

We hope that you are as satisfied with this fine selection of judges as we are, and look forward to seeing the results on saturday.

Open practice before the wars go on

To all dancers who are in Copenhagen already from the 18th of march, we will provide the option to practice at Breakpoint’s spot which is located close to Vega. This will take place on the 18th of march from 20:00 to 22:00 – feel free to join. For details of the whereabouts check the website.

Important information for all registered crews

You will have to register again at the main event, in the foyer on the ground floor!
This is due to the many signed up crews and to make sure that you actually are there for the main event. Registration is closing at 17:00 h sharp, as the elimination is starting right after. This gives you one hour from the doors opening. Please make sure to be there in time.
If you already know that you won’t be able to come, please contact us so we can remove you from the list of crews. Thank you.

Also we’ll have to put a cap on max 80 participating crews and 60 for the Toprock and Footwork battles. Please be aware that you can still sign up, but we won’t be able to guarantee you a spot on the qualifier list if your crew is above that number (check the list of signed up crews).

Winners of Floor Wars France 2011

Melting Force winners of Floor Wars France 2011

Last weekend 35 Crews battled it out in the south-west of France to qualify for this years finals in Copenhagen. The elimination took place in the suburbs of Lyon with many strong crews who clearly were very motivated to take the price home with them and didn’t made it easy for the judges to decide. Three DJ’s contributing with the soundtrack of the evening and an audience filled with bboy’s and bgirls shared the moment. At the end, Melting Force crew from St. Etienne won and will represent at the finals for France with their impressive power and routines. We’d like to thank our partners from especially Jsé and cultural center Rillieux la pape organizing and putting much effort into this event.

Bouncing Cats film screening at Floor Wars

This year, we’ll be screening the movie Bouncing Cats at Floor Wars.  Bouncing Cats is the inspiring story of one man’s attempt to create a better life for the children of Uganda using the unlikely tool of hip-hop with a focus on b-boy culture and breakdance. In 2006, Abraham “Abramz” Tekya, a Ugandan b-boy and A.I.D.S. oprhan created Breakdance Project Uganda (B.P.U.). The dream was to establish a free workshop that would empower, rehabilitate and heal the community by teaching youth about b-boy culture. We in Breakpoint organization have been working with BPU on several occassions, and what they have achieved in Uganda is simply amazing. To give all of you an impression of their work, we’ll be screening the film at 16:30 in the foyer of Vega.  Abramz and Mark from BPU will also fly in all the way from Uganda to present the movie and do a short Q&A afterwards. Check out the trailer at

Deine Lieblingsbreaker winners of Floor Wars Germany

The past weekend we went to Germany participating in a amazing battle at the Floor Wars qualifier held in Cologne. Many crews had signed up and so it was a long night ahead of us in a overpacked venue.

The audience was keeping up along the dancers and many promising crews have showed their strength, but nobody would have imagined that “Deine Lieblingsbreaker” – who after the first round continued with only two bboys as one of them got injured and couldn’t continue – would have gone all the way. Not only they’ve beaten strong competitors on their way but also last years winner and local heroes TNT crew in the finals!

Lot’s of respect and we are looking forward welcoming them between the great 8 to the finals in Copenhagen the 19th of march.
